Huichol Beaded Deer Wixarika Wood Carving Art
Fantastic huichol beaded deer handcrafted by the indigenous Huichol people of Jalisco. This deer was carved out of wood and then decorated with thousands of colored beads depicting several important huichol images such as fire, the sky and peyote. The thousands of beads were placed one-by-one onto a layer of natural glue which is made by the huichol people by mixing beeswax and pine resin.
